About Roy Creek Ranch

Roy Creek Ranch is our little corner of the Texas Hill Country, where experiments in sustainable living meet the rhythms of ranch life. This site shares our journey — the successes, lessons, and projects that keep us learning every day.

From building a 12 kWh LiFePO₄ “Really Big Battery,” to expanding solar arrays and charging an EV directly from the sun, we’ve been working toward energy independence one project at a time. Alongside the technical builds, you’ll also find reflections on ranch life, gardening with heirloom beans and corn, recipes from the kitchen, and the occasional travel story with our teardrop trailer.
